Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”: Mvt. II - Anton Dvorak

This movement always reminds me a lot of Mahler 3 for some reason. So beautiful~

Rutter Requiem: Requiem Aeternam - John Rutter

Choir of Clare College

Listening Pro-tip: Listen past the dark opening! It really lightens up into one of the most beautiful melodies of all time. Take my word.

Symphony No. 3 in D minor: VI. Langsam - Gustav Mahler

Zubin Mehta (conductor), Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra

So I had the rare opportunity to visit the stunning location where Mahler wrote his 3rd symphony this summer— how moving it all was. This music is just poignant and oozing after seeing what inspired it, I wish I could share the beautiful landscape with you all. My favorite recording is the Leonard Bernstein/Vienna Philharmonic one (it’s on youtube), but the file is too big to share here. Hope you enjoy this anyway, and do look that other one up when you get the chance!

Fliege Voglein- Dvorak

Performers: B. Bonney and A. Kirchschlager

I don’t usually post two in a row by the same composer, but this one is just so different from the last! Singing this duet now and it’s absolutely delightful.
